What is "Blackbook"?

Blackbook allows you to follow your favourite dogs AND trainers and receive a daily email summary of when your favourites are scheduled to run the next day. You can also configure Push Notifications to receive an alert when your favourites are about to run.

Where is my Blackbook?

Your Blackbook is accessed from the main menu in the Watchdog App or desktop site. You must have a Watchdog account and be logged in to access your Blackbook.

How do I create a Watchdog account?

You can create a Watchdog account using either an email address and password, or you can login using Facebook, Twitter or a Google account. To create an account, tap or click on the profile button in the top right hand corner of the Watchdog App or desktop site.

Tip: Make sure you verify your account or you will not be able to receive daily email summaries of when our favourite dogs and trainers are scheduled to run.

How do I verify my account?

If you sign up using Facebook, Twitter or a Google account, your email address will already be verified, otherwise you will need to check your email Inbox for an email from us requesting you verify your account.

Does my FastTrack Account need to be the same as my Watchdog Account?

No. As long as you know your FastTrack login details (Member number or email address used to sign up and current password) you will be able to import your saved favourites directly into Watchdog. Need help creating your account or logging in? Check out our Watchdog Account Creation Guide [PDF].

How is Blackbook different from FastTrack’s eDog Tracker?

As a FastTrack eDog Tracker user, do I have to find all my favourite Dogs again?

No. Watchdog Blackbook will allow you to import your saved favourites from FastTrack eDog Tracker. This can be done from your Profile page, accessed through the profile button in the top right hand corner of the Watchdog App or desktop site. How do I import my tracked dogs from FastTrack eDog Tracker?

You can import from your account profile page in Watchdog, which will ask for you to enter your FastTrack login information - either your FastTrack Member Number or the email you used to create your account with FastTrack and your FastTrack password.

To begin, simply open your profile page in Watchdog and tap on the Start button in the Import section of the page:

I already have dogs in my Blackbook, can I still import from FastTrack?

Yes. The import will only import dogs you were following in eDog tracker that are not already in your Blackbook.

How do I use my Blackbook?

Blackbook allows you to view your upcoming an recent saved favourite dogs and trainers. You can also add or edit your comments for each dog or trainer.

How do I search?

Watchdog allows you to easily search for dogs and trainers, using the search bar in the top banner of the Watchdog Application or desktop site.

Other than adding dogs or trainers from searching, there are also several other ways to add entires to your Blackbook:

How do I add or edit my comments in my Blackbook?

Comments in Blackbook are a great way for you to take your research notes with you wherever you go.

When you are adding an entry to your Blackbook, you can add a comment to remind yourself why you have added them. You don't need to add a comment if you don't want to - you can always add one later:

If you didn't add a comment or wish to change your comment, tap on the Edit icon for that entry in your Blackbook and you can update and save your comment:

Can other people see my Blackbook comments?

No. Your Blackbook comments are for your use only, and protected by your account. Only you can see them.

How do I remove an entry from my Blackbook?

To remove entries from your Blackbook, tap or click on the Delete icon for the entry you wish to remove.

How do I setup my notifications?

Notification settings are managed from your Profile page (tap or click the Profile icon in the top right hand corner of the Application or desktop site).

There are two types of notifications you are able to receive from Watchdog:

  1. Email notifications: Email notifications require you to have a verified email address for your account. When email notifications are enabled, you will receive a daily email around 8pm (AEST) the night before, showing all your Blackbooked entries scheduled to run the next day.

Push notifications: Push notifications can be configured to send you a race alert to remind you either 5, 10 or 30 mins before your favourite dogs are about to run, so you will never miss your favourite runners again. Note that Push Notifications for the Watchdog Application must also be enabled on your mobile device.

Why am I not receiving my daily emails?

In order for us to send you your daily email reminders, you need to have a verified email account and have email notifications enabled in your profile page.

Why am I not receiving push alerts?

For you to be able to receive push alerts on your mobile device, you need to ensure you have enabled push alert for the Application in your mobile device settings. Also check that you have enabled them in the Profile page of the Watchdog Application.

How do I change my password?

Changing password is not done from within the actual Watchdog application, but can be done from the login dialog. To change your password:

  1. Log out of Watchdog.
  2. Tap to login but instead of logging in, click the Don't remember your password? link.
  3. Enter your email address and submit
  4. When you receive the email you will be able to set a new password.
