Watchdog Form Guides

Watchdog provides all the details & statistics, as well as comments and tips from the Watchdog experts you need to make the most of your form analysis. However, the old printable form guides are still available from the FastTrack website and can be downloaded for each track, including:

All information displayed in these form guides (and so much more) is available in the app… for every Race… at every Victorian track.

Form Guides Explained

For a breakdown of each of the current form guides and what they contain, this section of our help guide should help you out.

The Snapshot

The Snapshot It provides basic information about the race number, start time and distance, and lists the dogs assessed by the Watchdog experts to be the top four dogs for the race, along with a brief comment as to why each one may be worth a look. It also gives recommendations for bets for each race. It does not include any track related information such as track records or form details for any of the runners.

The Whisper

The Whisper provides a brief overview and summary for all races in the meet all on the one page, including places for the previous 5 races for each dog, best time over this distance at this track, the trainer and the starting price. Each race also has a Race Overiew provided by The Watchdog's expert form analysts. Unlike the other downloadable guides, it does not provide any recommended tips for the race meet.

The Runaway Train

The Runaway Train provides basic form information for each runner in the race, including places for the previous 5 races for each dog, and a summary for the overall history of each dog. Each race has a Race Overiew provided by The Watchdog's expert form analysts, and also provides recommended tips for each race.

The Brainstormer

The Brainstormer includes a cover page providing detailed track statistics. It also shows basic form information and history for each of the dogs in the race, a speed map of 1st split speeds, and some basic infomation about the overall career statistics and winning box records. On the cover page, it also conains the Watchdog's tips of the day for the race meet.

At the top of each race guide, it shows the race overview, the speedmap and recommended tips for the race.

It contains abbreviated form information for each dog in the race, including details of its last 4 runs. It also contains winning box history for each dog.

The Rocket Scientist

The Rocket Scientist is the most detailed of the downloadable guides. It shows detailed form information for each runner, including it's last 8 races, overall career statistics and box history, and a speed map of all runners in each race. Each race has a race overiew provided by The Watchdog's expert form analysts and also provides recommended tips for each race. Like the Brainstomer, it also includes a cover page with track statistics, as well as a recommended Quaddie for the race meet.

Looking for basic form overview from the Runaway Train form guide in Watchdog? Here's where to find it:

Although the speedmap for each dog is already displayed on the main race form card, a consolidated speedmap can easily be accessed by tapping the Speedmap button. The form overview for each dog is available by viewing the race card for each dog. As an added bonus, it even provides the track specific form statistics, as well as those of the trainer!

For those who are used to a little more detail on individual Dog Form than is shown The Snapshot, The Whisper or The Runaway Train and normally use the Brainstormer instead, it is easy to find the information you normally use for your form analysis in Watchdog. It is also easy to drill down for even more detailed statistics and information for each dog and trainer! As an added bonus, the Watchdog also provides more tips and stats options than are available in the Brainstormer.

The race overview and speedmaps are still available. The speedmap indicator is displayed underneath each dog in the race form card, but can also be viewed as a consolidated speedmap for all dogs in the race:

In the Watchdog, each dog also has it's own form card for the race. This is where the more detailed information about each runner and it's form summary are displayed:

Although the Watchdog is fairly intuitive, it may help to know where to locate the information you are looking for, especially if you normally use the Rocket Scientist. All of the information available in the Rocket Scientist form guide (and a lot more) is available in Watchdog. The Watchdog also provides more tips and stats options than are available in the Rocket Scientist.
